Rhode Island here we come

Incorporating a Corvette into our lives didn't involve physically checking out too many cars in person. It did, however, create quite an online search for my husband, Nick. We have a binder with all his findings to prove it - I could hurt someone with it!

He'd sit at our computer for hours searching for 'Vettes from all over the country, looking intense like a mad scientist concocting a life saving potion. Every once in a while he'd mention one of his findings to me, but after growing up with a car dad, and now being married to a car husband, I was up to my elbows with cars. Cars this...cars that....I had gotten pretty good at letting it go in one ear and out the other.

One day I was ironing my favorite ivory colored crushed velvet pants, when I finally heard something I liked.

"Pack your bags," said Nick. "We're going on a road trip to Rhode Island. I found a nice '99 six-speed in Magnetic Red."

I heard that! I love to travel and within a half-an-hour I had a whole vacation plan forumulated. Taking a five hour road trip to Rhode Island from our home in Jersey was my ticket to a mini-vacation. I was so engrossed daydreaming about where we'd go, I almost burnt my pants!

Naturally I agreed to go so I could see a new state I'd never been to before (I want to see all 50 states in my lifetime.) And if Nick wanted to stop to look at the car, well, that would be fine too.

Off we went for the weekend and with the topic of this blog, do I need to tell you what the outcome was? Of course we got the car and we've been immersed in the Corvette culture ever since. I'll share more about the day we got the car, events we've been to, experiences we've had, and the people (particularly CorvetteGirls) that we've met, in future posts.
